Jessica McKeown is a freelance writer with a concentration in the music industry. Jessica developed an interest writing at the age of ten writing stories with her grandfather (a retired editor for The Daily News in Brooklyn). She explored journalism and public relations for Student Council in high school and soon continued her writing studies at Kutztown University.

The last four and a half years were years of growth for Jessica’s writing career after entering the music journalism scene in April 2013. Her late best friend and former editor-in-chief of Earplugs Required recruited her for news stories, reviews, and other press opportunities including a two-week run on the 2014 Vans Warped Tour for Musicians Opposed to Bullying. After Campbell’s death, Jessica took a year off before hitting the ground running once more with her current outlet Amplified Edge. She currently serves as an editor alongside creative director Katherine Little.

Her blog captures a variety of her interests, keeping her website multi-faceted and uniquely hers. Her biggest passions are alternative beauty, plus size fashion, hard rock/heavy metal, and mental health awareness and education. (She volunteers for the National Alliance on Mental Illness locally outside of work.) However, she also games online and loves comics.
